I was born in Bursa in 1962. I was introduced to photography at an early age through my uncle, Dr. Taner Özek. I developed my skills during photography trips we took together. The one that I remember most fondly was a two-week long Eastern Anatolia tour we took during my university years. It opened a completely different horizon for me, both for my life and my photography. Fotografevi tours that I've participated, also helped me a lot to improve my photography.
After graduating from Bursa Atatürk High School, I studied Economics at Boğaziçi University. My business life began at Ram Dış Ticaret A.Ş., the foreign trade company of Koç Holding, I worked in foreign trade for many years. I traveled a lot during those years and when I could find time, I tried to take pictures and continue my hobby. I retired from Kale Group, my final workplace, in 2010. Since then, I've been working as a consultant to various companies that operate in the markets that I have experience in.
In 2010, I opened a photography exhibition with my wife Tülin Dirik Yet, with the theme "Moscow'' at Gren Cafe, a hub for photography lovers in Bursa.
I took part in social responsibility projects; working at the 65+ Elderly Rights Association between 2016 and 2019. I am a member of Boğaziçi University Alumni Association and 65+ Elderly Rights Association.
I still continue my hobbies; photography; amateur polyphonic music with the Boğaziçi University Alumni Chorus; listening to quality music with the high fidelity (HiFi) systems that I've setup; and watercolor painting.'
